How we collect, verify, moderate, and publish customer reviews on signature-essentials.com
Purpose
These guidelines explain how Signature Clo invites, verifies, moderates, and publishes product ratings and reviews. They help customers understand how the star score is calculated, what’s allowed in a review, how we ensure authenticity, and how to report issues. This is a customer-facing policy designed to align with EU consumer protection principles (e.g., Omnibus Directive updates to the UCPD) and good-practice standards (e.g., ISO 20488). This is informational, not legal advice.

Review: Written feedback about a purchased product includes a star rating and optional photos/videos. (photos and videos are not published on signature-essentials.com to improve website browsing experience)

Rating: A star score from 1 to 5 left by a customer for a product.

Verified purchase: A review we can match to a completed order via post-purchase email invite.

Moderation: Our in-house process of checking reviews for appropriateness before publication.
Who can leave a review (verification & eligibility)
Only customers who purchased the item from Signature Clo are invited to review it. We send the invitation by email post-purchase. Each invited review is matched to an order and labeled as a Verified purchase.
How we collect reviews

Post-purchase invite: After an order is fulfilled, the buyer may receive an email inviting them to rate and review their product.

Optional reminder: We may send one reminder if no review is submitted.

No biased incentives: We do not buy reviews or offer rewards that bias the content or rating. If we ever offer a neutral incentive (e.g., a general voucher for submitting any review), we’ll disclose it and apply it equally to positive and critical reviews.
Star rating (how the score is calculated)
The star rating shown (out of 5) is the arithmetic average of all customer ratings for that product. We may also show context (e.g., number of reviews, most recent review date). We do not alter the rating value entered by customers.
What we publish
We publish both positive and critical reviews that meet these guidelines. We do not suppress negative feedback to mislead shoppers. Reviews typically appear within 3 days after submission, following moderation.

Human review: Our team moderates submissions for authenticity and appropriateness.

Timing: Most compliant reviews are published within 3 days of submission.

Edits: We do not change a review’s meaning. We may correct obvious typos or remove personal data for safety/GDPR compliance.

Redactions: We may redact sensitive data or competitor brand names if used in a promotional or condemning way that distracts from product-focused feedback.

Duplicates/off-topic: Near-duplicate, spam, or off-topic content may be rejected.

Be specific and helpful for other shoppers (e.g., your height/size context when discussing fit).

Illegal content, hate speech, harassment, threats, or personal attacks.

Personal data (addresses, phone numbers, financial information) of you or others.

Spam, advertising, or links intended to promote other products or websites.

Defamatory claims or allegations presented as facts without evidence.

Competitor mentions used to promote or condemn another brand; we may redact brand names to keep reviews product-focused.

Infringing content (e.g., copyrighted material you do not own).
Photos & videos in reviews
If you upload media, ensure you own the rights and that the content is relevant and appropriate. We may downscale or compress files for performance. We may remove media that violates these rules or privacy laws.
How reviews are displayed & sorted

Default order may be by recency or helpfulness; we may also allow sorting by rating or filtering.

Helpful votes and fraud checks may influence which reviews appear first, but we do not sell or accept payment to boost visibility.

We clearly show the total review count and the average star rating for transparency.
Conflicts of interest & incentives
Reviews must reflect genuine customer experiences. Employees, ambassadors, or anyone receiving value linked to a specific outcome must disclose that relationship. We remove or label reviews that pose a conflict of interest or that were obtained contrary to these guidelines.
Merchant replies to reviews
We may respond publicly to clarify product details or resolve issues. If your experience was not ideal, please contact us so we can help. Our replies follow the same standards for respect and accuracy.
Privacy & data protection (GDPR)
When you submit a review, we process your personal data (e.g., name, order ID, review content) for the legitimate interest of informing other customers and improving our products. We keep reviews while the product is available, unless you request deletion where applicable. You have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, and object, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.

Reporting a review (notice & action)
To report illegal or abusive content, use the report link (where available) or email support@signature-essentials.com with: the product link, the review text, and your explanation. We will assess promptly and take appropriate action (removal, redaction, or reinstatement).
Changes to these guidelines
We may update these guidelines to reflect legal requirements or improve clarity. The effective date above shows the latest update. Substantive changes will be highlighted on this page.
